Baby shower games people actually join in with
Some baby shower games sound fun until everyone avoids eye contact and suddenly needs to go bathroom
The best ones are usually the simple ones — quick to explain, easy for mixed ages, and not so embarrassing that nobody wants to participate. These are the baby shower games I keep seeing people actually join in with instead of politely watching from the corner.

Easy mingle games
Don’t say “baby”
This one works surprisingly well because people completely forget the rule after about five minutes.
Everyone gets a few pegs or clothespins at the start of the shower. If somebody hears another guest say the word “baby”, they can steal one of their pegs. Whoever has the most pegs by the end wins.
It’s easy to run in the background while people eat, talk and move around, so it doesn’t interrupt the whole shower.
Guess the bump size
Guests cut ribbon or string to guess the size of the bump, and the closest measurement wins.
This one is simple, low effort and works well if you want games that don’t feel too loud or competitive. It’s also one of the easier games for mixed age groups because everyone immediately understands it.
If you’re planning a full shower setup, this pairs quite nicely with a simple shower food table or gift-opening section because it doesn’t need loads of space or equipment.
This one also works well during quieter parts of the shower while people are chatting, eating or sorting through gifts before the bigger “preparing for a baby” stage starts
Funny games
Dirty diaper game
Probably one of the most divisive baby shower games ever 😭
Different chocolate bars are melted into nappies and guests have to guess which chocolate is inside each one. Some people love this game and some people absolutely hate it, which honestly becomes part of the entertainment.
It works best with smaller groups where people are already quite comfortable with each other.
Baby bottle race
Baby bottles are filled with juice or water and everyone races to finish first.
This one usually gets louder than expected because people underestimate how awkward it is drinking from baby bottles quickly. It’s simple, cheap to set up and works well if the shower needs a bit more energy halfway through.
What helps: Products I actually used
Neutral balloon arch kits. Easy backdrop that instantly makes photos look more put together.
Mini baby bottles. Fillable baby bottles for candy
Pin the dummy. Baby shower game
Interactive games
Blindfold baby drawing
Everyone closes their eyes and tries to draw a baby.
The funniest drawing wins, and honestly the worse the drawings are, the funnier this game becomes. This is a good option if you want something funny without needing loads of setup.
Toilet paper diaper challenge
Teams use toilet paper to create a “nappy” on one person from the group.
The best diaper design wins. This one is chaotic in the best way and tends to work well for bigger groups because everyone gets involved very quickly.
Final thought
The baby shower games people remember most usually aren’t the complicated ones.
They’re the quick games that make people laugh without needing loads of explaining, loads of materials or loads of awkward participation.
This isn’t professional advice — just a simple breakdown of what I’ve found helpful.
Most of this is easier to understand visually.

FAQs
What are the easiest baby shower games to set up?
Games like “Don’t say baby” and “Guess the bump size” are probably the easiest because they need very little equipment and don’t interrupt the whole party.
What baby shower games work best for mixed age groups?
Simple games that people can join casually usually work best. Peg games, guessing games and drawing games tend to be easier for everyone to participate in.
Are baby shower games still popular?
Honestly yes — but usually the shorter, funnier games. Most people prefer games that feel relaxed instead of overly competitive or awkward.
How many games should you play at a baby shower?
Usually around 3–5 games is enough. Too many games can start making the shower feel over-planned and tiring.
What prizes do people give for baby shower games?
Most people keep prizes small and simple — candles, chocolates, mini beauty bits, mugs or little self-care gifts tend to work well.
